Part Five

Distribution & Exhibition

The ratio of shorts that make money through more conventional channels of distribution and exhibition to those that don’t is diminutive. Why do you think this is?

Because short films are constantly being made, and therefore, are always being distributed. Lots of film makers and film students watch and make short films for research/trial and error purporses so no matter whether they are making money on them or not short films are always in demand. That is why the ratio between money making short films and non-profting short films is duminutive.

In what contexts have the following anthologies/collections of short films been created and how have they been put together?

Purpose is a professional context where consumers can purchase a dvd collection of short films with different categories, e.g. European short films, British short films and World short films.
